Tēnā koutou katoa,

We hope that Term 2 and our distance learning programme has been a success for you so far.

We know there will have been any number of challenges for you to deal with but we have been getting some great feedback about the learning that is happening and thank you for all your support.

On Monday the Prime Minister announced that the country would move to Alert Level 3 from Tuesday 28 April. The main message at Level 3 is:

Stay home. If you are not at work, school, exercising or getting essentials, then you must be at home, the same as at Level 4.

While most schools will be open for attendance from 29 April, for those that can’t stay at home, Special Schools like the Southern Health School will remain closed for attendance.

For now, and through Level 3, we will continue to support your child’s learning by providing distance teaching. During this time we will continue our planning for what Alert Level 2 will mean for you and for our school. We will be in touch again soon with more information.

Please keep connecting with your teachers with any questions you might have.

Ngā mihi

Helen Mantell
